7 Capture Worthy

– Excuse the quality. A candid shot captured with an iPhone while admiring the sunset from the Exuma Beach Resort in one of my favourite dresses. –

The week before last saw a few exciting meetings accompanied by travel to George Town, Exuma. All then followed by an unexpected but welcome four day weekend spent on mainland New Providence. Unexpected, given that only a few hours after my return from the southern islands we were scheduled to fly north to the Abacos, where I would review Lubber’s Landing. But as fate would have it cancellations were made and landlocked we decided to put relaxation at the top of our priority list. In between early morning, at times evening laps in the ocean – an activity that is quickly becoming a summer tradition – we spent moments deciding ways in which we would embrace the warmest months of the year. Whilst the slight peak in temperatures marks a subtle change in season in The Bahamas, the warmer waters are more of an indication of the impending summer months, hence the swims. On Monday I look forward to sharing some of ways I plan to embrace summer in the islands and the months to follow.

Until then, have a lovely weekend.

– Referred by some as a “flame trees” and by others as “nature’s fireworks” – poinciana trees are currently in full bloom in the islands. –

– First harvest from our mango tree, inspiring a weekend of baking. –

– The largest lemon I’ve ever set my eyes on. Therefore, begging to be squeezed in to a few cocktails this weekend. –
