Coastal Covet – Koastal Krafts

I typically find that nautically inspired wall decor comes with a price tag that makes me feel further from the shore and closer to New York City’s Fifth Avenue; and that on the off chance when I do happen to indulge in such a purchase, I look to it hanging on my wall and feel quite a disconnect – the main ingredient of buyer’s remorse. This however is not the case when it comes to Koastal Krafts, a Bahamas-based cottage industry company that specializes in custom made shell decor. Having discovered a few months back the designs of founder and owner Kyrene Kelty, I’ve since been trying to decide which colour matte, background, shell and frame would best suit the interiors of our new apartment. Let it be said, I believe it that much harder to make my selection not because of my indecisive nature, but because in the art industry it is not often you have the option to personalize such a piece beyond selecting the matte and frame. Let it also be said, you would think that as this service sets Koastal Krafts apart there would be a price tag that does as well; with a sigh of relief I can say that is not the case – therefore allowing you and I to feel not far from the beach and closer to the shore. However, aside from the price point the decision won’t be easy. With a selection of 4 backgrounds, 10 seashells, a plethora of frames and more than 30 mattes available – all in a kaleidoscope of colour, you’ll surely have some deciding to do.
