Windermere Day Spa + Salon’s DIY Two Strand Twist

Going beyond scissors and hairspray we will let you in on a must know polish secret that suits our sun, sand and sea lifestyle – the best Escape Essential any girl could ask for. Island “I DO” brides, expect to see hair inspiration, and I mean lots of it; we’re not just talking for your big day, we’re talking inspiration for those late-night celebrations enjoyed in the days before and in the days after when honeymoon is the word. Those of you not planning on taking a walk down the aisle, or should I say beach any time soon, you won’t be left out as this inspiration will be met with Do It Yourself (DIY) tutorials such as the one for the Two Strand Twist below.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED –

• 1 Rat-tail Comb
• Bobby Pins
• Clear Hair Rubber-bands
• Clear Wax/ Pomade
• Hairspray – Light/ Medium
• Curling Iron – optional should you choose to leave hair down
• Flower or fancy hair-barrette, optional

• If you choose to leave hair down after completing the two strand twist and wish for it to be curly, be sure to curl it prior.
• Before you begin add a little bit of Clear Wax or Pomade, not too much, you just want to lay the fly ways down. If you have layers like I do this is a must!
• At Step 3 when clipping the loose hair in the middle, after parting, you don’t want the loose ends to be facing the front as you don’t want them to interfere with the twisting pattern, so be sure to clip it so the ends are facing down.
• Finishing Touch – lightly tug on the 2 strand twist to give it some height, if you tug too hard use pins to secure.
