Paradise In The Press: FASHION Magazine

FASHION magazine’s Mary Katrantzou says, “it’s clear that the deep blue sea is fashion’s new frontier” so it appears that The Bahamas is in fashion. Earlier this year the beauty of Cat Island and Fernandez Bay Village met its match when the magazine’s Fashion Director Susie Sheffman, Brazilian model Cintia Dicker, and sibling photographers Adam and Christopher Levett landed on its remote shores.

In the April issue of the Canadian magazine Sheffman brought her vision to life when she re-cast The Little Mermaid’s Ariel as the muse of the season and used the variable blues of the Cat Island shores to create a juxtaposition in color, the contrast was awe-inspiring. Sheffman told Fashion Television “the first shot we did was a fantastic location because [the water was] super super shallow, we could bring her out on to the sandbar. We moved today over to a rougher water but with that rougher deeper water comes a really really deep gorgeous turquoise. So we wanted to explore all the different types of waters [of Cat Island].”

The result is envy worth, for raven red locks, salt water drenched designer labels, a visit to Fernandez Bay Village, I still have yet to determine. What’s your verdict?

Whatever it is, come take a dip in these Ariel-approved waters.
