Mango Daiquiri

This past Saturday, in celebration of National Daiquiri Day, I made Young’s Champagne’s Bahamian Mango Daiquiri. A classic daiquiri that is true to its original form and hasn’t been muddled by the edits of time. Shaking Plantation’s 3 Stars White Rum – a smooth blend I first sipped while at this year’s Rum Bahamas Festival – with sugar, lime, and ripe off the tree mango, the perfect balance of sweet and sour was struck. No surprise then really that this daiquiri will become synonymous with summer in our home and the harvest season which marks our coastal calendar.

| RECIPE |
2 oz Plantation 3 Star White Rum – available at Young’s Champagne –
1 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz fresh lime juice – 1.5 tablespoons –
2 slices of fresh picked Bahamian Mango
3 dashes of Scrappy’s Orange Bitters – available at Young’s Champagne –

Muddle mango in bottom of shaker, add remaining ingredients and ice.
Shake and double strain into cocktail glass and garnish with a slice of Bahamian Mango.
