BAHA Styles – Bahamian Backyard Views
Recently over cocktails friends and I were discussing the features of our dream home, should there ever come a day such a foundation would exist. I was quick to depict the days of my childhood, which were well-lived in my backyard – a sprawling garden ripe with mulberry, mango, orange, coconut and scarlet plum trees. I recalled how on Sundays my grandfather, barebacked and in swim trunks – with a customary bloody marry in hand – would walk the garden in search of juicy limes and lemons to squeeze in to his cocktail just before several games of cribbage. Having awakened this feeling of nostalgia I figured it high time to pay homage to the Bahamian “backyard” – the most important feature of many dream homes. For even if it might not kiss the sea or a footprint free beach, from there you will always be able to feel the breeze off the ocean and smell it in the air. Do view the interiors of these homes currently featured on Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty for what can be seen beyond the front door is as beautiful as what can be seen beyond the back.

I’ve enjoyed your blog so much that I had to go back to your first post and read it from the beginning. Reading your current and catching up on the old. My wife and I recently purchased a lot in little exuma, so I’ve learned so much about your country…it’s been incredible. Anyway…it’s hard to argue with the English House right there on the beach, but the way the deck opens to the grass and patio is simple, yet stunning. Some day when we build, I’ll keep this post in mind.
And congratulations on your wedding. It looked amazing.
