Coastal Covet – Pirates & Pearls

When my eyes first fell upon the Pirates & Pearls line at the annual Bahamas National Trust Christmas Jollification event I felt like I discovered treasure, the sort that would recounted in books many centuries later; its intricate jewelry designs strung together with seashells of all shapes, sizes and colours, glass beads from around the world, sparkling crystals, semi-precious stones and of course pearls discovered along the old pirate playgrounds and trading routes, how could I have felt any differently? The handcrafted line by  jewelry maker Cornelia Meye pulls inspiration from the lush tropical atmosphere of small Caribbean islands and the laid-back-lifestyle we so proudly emulate. My current obsession, which has served as my continuous obsession, is known as the “Sea Rug” and “Caterpillar” bracelet – a statement piece that can undoubtedly take your look from day to night.

Tell me, do you have wrist envy? I think even the likes of pirate Anne Bonny would admit to such!

P.S.  Pirates & Pearls will be carried in The 700 Experience Boutique at the Hope Town Lodge come November.

P.P.S. Pirates & Pearls is currently available at the Princess Street Gallery on Harbour Island, Eleuthera. Also BNT’s Christmas Jollification is a must on your Nassau Island Itinerary, especially for you winter birds that fly in, pun intended.
