Island Inspirations – 5 Capture Worthy

Exuma calm, a phrase coined by us locals to define the days made of glass calm seas and the times when leaning over port-or-starboard-bow-or-stern one can clearly see to the ocean floor, no glass bottom bucket needed. Today the ocean is Exuma calm, the sky clear overhead and I am heading South towards The Exumas, a chain of 365 islands, one to be experienced each day of the year. I am bound for Highbourne Cay, the most northerly-inhabited island in the Exuma Chain. I often refer to this island chain as God’s country, as most islanders do, simply because its beauty is unparalled. I write such a statement with confidence – same can be said for when I say it. This weekend Highbourne Cay is host to my friends Peter + Sarah’s twenty-fifth birthday celebration. With an itinerary that includes evenings filled with fireworks and traditional Bahamian Junkanoo and mornings spent recovering over Mimosas, Boiled Fish and Johnny Cake it is sure to be a memorable one. All that said, a great lead up to next week when I will share the very exciting news of a brand partnership, welcome a new Interactive Advertiser and unveil the July Island Connoisseur.

Stay tuned and have a lovely weekend.
