Pom Pom Scarf
If you have been following my travels here then you know that I have been island hopping this past week. Nassau to South Abaco to North Eleuthera to Harbour Island, also known as “Briland,” the colloquial name for the island as coined by us locals. It was while there that I popped in to Blue Rooster, a boutique that offers a carefully curated collection of upscale and stylish women’s clothing, jewelry and accessories. Stopping in to the boutique, which is housed in an 1840 gingerbread cottage, is a must-do when visiting Briland as it is owned by my dear friend’s mum, Gabrielle Kennedy and her business partner John Fondas. I would argue that it is also owned by Gabrielle’s dog Swift, who is typically found lounging on a chair fit for a royal bottom. Every time I enter the shop’s door there Swift lays with heavy eye lids and ears ready to be rubbed, your typical island watch dog. Of course, naturally, I stop in to see the latest resort fashions as well – especially as caftans, tunics and pareos are my and most island visitors preferred way to dress while on Briland. This past Friday though my friend Maureen purchased a must-have there, the Pompom Scarf made by the company Natural Life.
Available in ten colors, the assortment of scarves are displayed in such a way that makes choosing just one a difficult task. I am somewhat indecisive to start with but tell me that the display above doesn’t remind you of the colourful scene at a candy store or a row of those sugar twisted donuts…
Now for a well-spent $38.00 dollars go snag one to call your own when you’re next on Harbour Island –
you can thank me later!
P.S. Blue Rooster boutique is located at King St. at Dunmore St. – Dunmore Town, Harbour Island, Bahamas.
