The 700 Experience Welcomes Harbourfront Lounge

Picture this. It’s evening and you’re entering an atmospheric courtyard canopied by sail awnings. Here the light from the moon overhead and the gas fire which marks the courtyard’s center seem to be in competition. Your already rumbling stomach – which is fighting an inner battle with each opening and closing of the doors that lead to the main dining room and chef’s kitchen – asks, what will it be? The Lobster Lavelle sautéed in a Garlic and Sherry Cream Sauce? Or the Risotta Frutti Di Mare complete with shrimp, scallops, conch and mussels? Or perhaps one of the restaurant’s famous Thin Crust Pizzas? Passing through the dining room, and a bar lined with photographs of old Bahamas, you arrive to a porch where you are seated with a view of Nassau’s harbour.  The view being a tell-all, you have arrived to the Harbourfront Lounge – a once private waterfront home complete with an atmosphere to prove. And that isn’t as good as it gets. This view is one that is sure to get better. With a $6 million waterfront marina in the works, the future holds days spent watching boaters moor their 50-90 foot vessels in the 100 slip marina. With a pool and dock master’s office to be completed by early Spring of 2013, walking on what will be a newly installed 20 foot wide waterfront boulevard – which will stretch from the western Paradise Island Bridge to the heart of downtown Nassau – will seem like an experience that was always meant to be.
