Coastal Covet: Nadia Campbell Jewellery

Serving up a pop of colour in jewels that can easily be worn with the most flowing of caftans, local jewelry designer Nadia Campbell is on my radar for creating statement pieces that truly compliment our island lifestyle. For the past two years, having split her time between the island of Nassau, New Providence and Florence, Italy – where she is completing a two-year study in goldsmithing at Le Arti Orafe – Nadia says, “I realized I’m really a resort designer. For me, Nadia Campbell Jewellery is lifestyle jewellry – and the lifestyle I identify most with is The Bahamas. It’s the thing I know most intimately, so I always design with that in mind, with what feel appropriate within the climate and content.” Here here.

With each piece remaining true to her source of inspiration, I set my sights on sourcing select pieces of the Nadia Campbell Jewellery collection to be sold in The 700 Experience Boutique at the Hope Town Lodge come November 2012. My fingers running over unexpected combinations that have inspired necklaces, earrings and bracelets, I decide on the simplistic nature of the colourful drop resin earrings and leather bound bracelets. Then a bracelet with a drop tassel catches my eye, my mind deciding this would be a great addition to the many stacked bracelets splashed in glossy magazines – and I’m sold.

Can’t wait until November to lay your eyes on the jewellery line? Shop the collection at the boutique at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas.
